From Dayton, Ohio, Dr. Barry Weckesser moved to the west coast of Florida in 1949. He received his undergraduate and medical degree from the University of Florida, Gainesville. He completed his internship and residency at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore and his cardiology fellowship at the University of Maryland.
Dr. Weckesser spent 18 years in the private practice of cardiology in Baltimore, where he also served as the Director of the Coronary Care Unit of Mercy Hospital. He also spent 2 years in the Armed Forces as a US. Army Major, including one year in Vietnam.
He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology and nuclear medicine. Dr. Weckesser’s expertise is in cardiac nuclear medicine procedures for which he holds additional certification.

In his spare time, Dr. Weckesser enjoys boating, snow skiing, exercising, traveling and spending quality time with his children, Jeffrey, Chandler, Colin and Colby. He also enjoys his bird and dogs.
